Coffee, Connections & Community I was happy to receive an invitation to attend last night's Coffee Night at the Istanbul Cultural Center, featuring State Representative Johanna Lopez as the guest speaker. It was a wonderful evening filled with informative conversations, laughter, delicious food, and meaningful connections with members of the Atlantic Institute and other community organizations. One of my highlights was seeing my recent introduction of Chamber member Adult Literacy League to the Atlantic Institute come full circle. I’m always excited when connections lead to new opportunities and stronger partnerships in our community. And yes… I absolutely enjoyed the Turkish coffee and tea! ☕️? I even participated in a coffee reading! ? I often reflect on how important it is to have at least one funding organization believe in your vision and mission. It’s not always about the amount of money they provide. Sometimes, the confidence and support of a single funder can encourage other organizations to get involved because they see that your work has already earned credibility and backing. The Leadership Capacity Building Seminar is the first Project to receive funding from a new program offered by the @townofeatonvillecra . The support from the CRA helped our seminar bring together grassroots nonprofits to connect, share resources, and highlight the important work they're doing in the community. Their sponsorship assisted with our initiative to create valuable opportunities for collaboration, strengthen community partnerships, and reach more people with a lasting impact. I attended the OCPS 2026 State of the Schools this morning. Superintendent Dr. Maria F. Vazquez and School Board Chair Teresa Jacobs shared "district accomplishments and the forces reshaping public education in Florida." Chair Jacobs also reflected on her time with OCPS as she talked about her term coming to a close. She shared some great memories of her long career with OCPS. The workshop was facilitated by Lee Kitchen, an innovation catalyst and one of the original Disney Cast members who started Disney's Creative Inc. Innovation Lab. During the Creativity Workshop Lee equipped us with innovation and brainstorming skills that will provide us with a new way of thinking about and solving business challenges.
